About

Dr Conrad Coelho is a Senior Lecturer (Associate Professor) in Digital Marketing at the Kent Business School. His research straddles Social Media Advertisements, the Adoption of emerging Digital Technologies, and Contemporary Issues in the Online World. Conrad is also keen to explore pedagogical approaches to enhancing student learning.

As a Certified Management and Business Educator (CMBE) from the Chartered Association of Business Schools UK, a member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM), and with the Senior Fellowship of Advance HE (SFHEA), Conrad combines academic expertise with real-world insights.

An active Academic Citizen, Conrad contributes to Academic Quality Assurance as an External Examiner for the University of West London and the University of the West of England. He has also provided academic due diligence as an External Academic Panel Member for Digital Marketing and Business Management course validations at Brunel University, BPP University, Edge Hill University, Ravensbourne University London, University of Wales TSD, and Queen Margaret University Edinburgh.

Conrad is committed to supporting local businesses and is involved in delivering the UK Government's Help to Grow management course for small business owners. He also serves as a Digital Marketing mentor for the UKRI-funded 'Growing Kent and Medway' project.


Previous Appointments-

 2021-2023:

Lecturer and Course Leader for BSc (Hons) Business and Marketing (Jan cohort) at the University of Central Lancashire, UK. Leading the delivery of Marketing and Digital Marketing modules for the MBA, MSc Digital Marketing, Apprenticeship as well as UG Courses.

2010-2021:

Assistant Professor and Programme Coordinator for the Bachelor of Management Studies at Narsee Monjee College (Autonomous), India.

In addition to his academic pursuits, Conrad holds a professional Latin and Ballroom dance teaching qualification from the ISTD (UK). His research on Online Dance Pedagogy has been published in prestigious international journals, including Dance Education in Practice, Research in Dance Education, and the ISTD (UK) magazine Dance!

Research interests

Currently exploring new advancements such as anthropomorphism of digital assistants (chatbots), Cookie-less Online Marketing, the Metaverse and Spatial Computing.

Teaching

Conrad's current teaching focus includes key areas of digital marketing such as Social Media Advertising, Digital Marketing Communication, Online Branding, E-Commerce and Marketing Metrics.

Previously, Conrad has taught across the business curriculum in India and the UK, at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. He has also co-authored a reference book on Production and Quality Management (ISBN: 978-93-5202-092-8) for the students of the University of Mumbai in 2016.

Supervision

Conrad has the experience of supervising PG Dissertations and Projects in digital marketing.
